Is there a way to exclude events in the search API by keyword. For example, want to search on a date range, and a specific state, but I do not want anything listed that contains "World Run Day" in the title. Is there a way to do that?

Unfortunately you can't exclude by keyword. You'll have to do that at the application layer.
