I started using the Active Resource API to gain additional event detail, but my first testing using a tennis event yielded a blank response. Are there any restrictions in terms of activity or event type?

Good catch. This API is restricted to Endurance events, tournaments, classes and leagues. Tennis is classified as "Team Sports" and is sourced from another system (a system to which this API does not integrate unfortunately). At this point we don't have an API that will expose the same detail for team sports that we do for endurance.
