I keep getting the error: "Root Element is missing" when I try to read the Active.com search API feed. We used to get this occasionally, like maybe once or twice a day (out of hundreds of requests). But lately, we are getting it for more than 50% of the request. If we repeat the exact same request, we eventually get an XML feed, so I don't the problem is on our end.

Can you send me a sample API call that this has happened so I can troubleshoot? Did you notice any other patterns for when this happens?
I'll look into it and get back to you ASAP.
Best regards,

It appears to be working. We haven't seen the error all afternoon.
