Asset Details in JSON?

    • Richard
    • Topic created 13 years ago

The json/jsonp support for the search API works great, but I'm interested in getting additional details on an event using the Asset Details call. The v & cb parameters don't seem to have any impact. The data is returned as XML.

Is there any way to have this call return json? And as a jsonp call to avoid browser cross domain issues?

    Thanks,

    Richard

    Hello Richard,

Currently, the Asset Details API only returns results in XML format. However, after speaking with the team that maintains this API, we have added this to the development roadmap. Specifically, they will be adding the ability to get results in JSON format.

We will be reviewing all priorities next week and I should be able to get you an ETA on when this will be implemented.

This would still be great. Any news?

    Hi Brent,

This has been added to our development roadmap. There are a few other priorities that are ahead of this, but we should have this available soon. Currently, it is scheduled for mid-July. I will post an update to twitter (@activeapi) and the sticky post about API updates (http://developer.active.com/forum/read/156745).

    Best regards,

Any update to this? Seems like you guys have made a lot of changes but this low hanging fruit is still dangling.

    Hi Brent,

We were able to make this update. Simply add "f=json" to the end of your API call. For example: http://api.amp.active.com/resource/assetservice/asset/a8799ed2-f44f-427b-9c58-ee30e9766887?api_key=u2hcu6p5qvwksr54gdz9rppz&f=json
