Difference in Detail API

    I was hoping you would be able to tell me if this issue is related to the update or not.

    The following asset does not have the <briefDescription> xml item in the result set: af9696e3-b5fa-40f2-8547-7c7975d037d5

    This item DOES have the <briefDescription> in the xml result set: 09f5f2b4-bc28-409a-8365-148bccd4ce61

    Which one is accurate and can you please explain the difference in XML result items.

    Hi there HarryM,

    The difference in details information is not related to the current development update. Events and activities can be submitted by users (www.active.com/events/event_add_listing.cfm) and some of the fields are optional, such as "Brief Description". So you may seem some assets that have this information and other that do not (as in your case above).

    Thanks, Jarred. I looked through the documentation and I did not see any information on which items are required. I just want to make sure that when I call a description, it will be reliably returned. Can you tell me what description is required so that I call the correct XML element?

    Harry,

    I am digging in to see if I can get a detailed report of all the required fields. We have events being added from multiple source systems (various registration platforms that all have different fields feeding into one database). It may be best to display results showing all available descriptions, and excluding ones that have no content or that are not included in the xml results. For example, "show <briefDescription>, if none exists, display <eventDetailsValue>, etc..."

    I'll get back to you once I have feedback from my team.
